How long does it take to remodel a kitchen?

Most kitchen remodels can be done in less than a month, except that lead times on materials can drastically impact time frames. We recommend ordering all materials upfront as soon as you go under contract for a remodel.

What is a good budget for a kitchen remodel?

You can do a lot to a kitchen for under 20K, but 40K is a much healthier budget to get everything you want to be done.

What is the average cost of a kitchen makeover?

We typically see the average cost of this type of home improvement to be around $40,000. This figure includes labor, materials, and equipment, including:

  • all new cabinets and countertops
  • tile backsplash
  • new sink & faucet
  • new lighting fixtures
  • ceiling fans.

You can also get some nice appliances and good quality flooring for this price range.

What costs the most in a kitchen remodel?

The short answer: It depends. Usually, the cabinets are the most expensive item in a kitchen remodel. Countertops, flooring, and tile are often in the running for the next most expensive items.

In what order should you remodel a kitchen?

  1. Figure out your cabinet layout/design first. Design in general should always come first.
  2. For the construction process. Demolition, framing, mechanical (plumbing, HVAC, electrical), insulation, drywall, flooring, cabinets, countertops, paint, and various finish work and fixtures.
How much does it cost to gut and remodel a small kitchen?

The average cost of a 10×10 kitchen gut and remodel is around $20,000 – $30,000. However, this is only an average and prices can vary depending on the size and type of remodeling you want. For example, if you want to add more counter space or cabinets, the price will increase considerably.

How much does it cost to install 10×10 kitchen cabinets?

It will typically cost anywhere from $5,000 to $10,000 to install 10×10 kitchen cabinets.

What are the lead times for cabinets?

The average time for custom cabinetry is 4-6 weeks from start to finish. Cabinet lead times can vary by manufacturer and style. Some styles have longer lead times than others (for example, shaker-style cabinets take longer to make). This is why we recommend figuring out your cabinet layout/design first.

How will a kitchen remodel affect my family and the use of my home?

Remodeling your kitchen can significantly impact the convenience of your home. Sometimes our clients will go on vacation or temporarily move out of their homes to stay in an Airbnb where they will have a fully operating kitchen. We’ve also had clients simply move into their basement apartment while we remodeled the upstairs.

Not having a kitchen sink, appliances, or countertops for a few days/weeks can be challenging, so make plans in advance for how you’ll deal with that.

How will Allied Remodeling Contractors Help Mitigate Dust?

We try to make things as comfortable as possible, by using dust barriers and other dust mitigation techniques. Some projects aren’t that dusty if we aren’t tearing down walls or working much on drywall. However, depending on the size of the project and the age of the home, it may be advisable for the health of you and your family to make other living arrangements while the main demolition takes place.
